Passenger Power!

In November and December 2014 Passenger Focus asked East Midlands Trains' (EMT) passengers to tell us what they wanted to see improved. We gathered this feedback on behalf of the Department for Transport (DfT) to help them and EMT plan services to best meet passengers’ needs. This is all to do with DfT’s intention to award a new short-term franchise (known as a ‘direct award’) to East Midlands Trains for operation of services for a further two years from October 2015. The exercise was not intended to generate feedback from a representative sample of East Midlands Trains passengers, but to collect information that will help DfT and EMT understand passengers’ views and so shape improvements between October 2015 and October 2017.

The feedback form was available to complete online between 19 November and 14 December 2014 through the Passenger Focus website. We received 325 responses and are grateful to all those who spared the time to provide their views.

In addition to this feedback exercise, Passenger Focus has completed qualitative research among East Midlands Trains passengers and the findings will be published on our website in due course.
